As my title infers, my vue sometimes "chuggs" when I hit around 55-60 and quits after a few seconds. A friend had mentioned it might be my fuel pump. Any other views out there? I am not a repairer but there isn't a Saturn dealership within 100 miles of my house and I would like to have some idea of what the problem is before taking it in to get repaired. :dizzy:
Also, sometimes, after start up in 1st gear, I get a rattling sound under my hood. Help?

Many VUEs will surge at part-throttle acceleration, particularly the pre-Honda ones. I'm not sure why this is but suspect the digital throttle (gas pedal). Is it like a 'bucking' that clears up, like the engine is turning off and on? Next time it does it, give it more throttle and see if it stops.

It may be helpful if you include the engine and transmission information.
The VTI (auto) transmission could buck if it is starting to slip.
How many miles on it? A lot of highway driving at constant speed?

:xeye: Sorry, it is a 4 cylinder, stick shift with 38000 miles on it. And I do drive almost constant highway miles on it. I run 55 - 75 mph 10 mins to and from work every week day.

Does it occur only at speeds mentioned or at same RPMs in lower gear and lower speed? Does it still occur if you drive around for a while to warm the motor and then get on the highway?
