I picked up a VUE brochure from the Saturn folks at the Detroit auto show. In it they are highlighting the powertrain features:
Three engine options: 164-hp 4-cylinder, 215-hp V-6 or 250-hp V-6
Available 6-speed automatic transmission
Other notable features are:
Available rain sensing windshield wipers with heated washer fluid
Available GPS
standard XM radio

I wonder if the GPS would be backward compatible? It would solve the XM issue for those of us to have not gotten it in the first place.....:tear:
And the GPS would be a neat gizmo to have.....be even better if it had substantial hard-drive for mp3s....can't understand why they haven't offered the GPS as an option in the VUE....its not like an emerging technology or anything. I returned a Dell laptop I was using for mp3/GPS/GM diagnotics, as it was a bear to haul around for short trips. Kinda sad I did...maybe when I move up the coast, I will get it again as I will have longer trips (20min just to go to the corner store).

Just get a Garmin 2820 with a GXM 30 antenna. Plug the aux out into the VUE aux in. You have XM radio playing and it interrupts to give you directions (if you want it to by settings otherwise it will only play the music and give visuals). It also has Bluetooth and so you can see your phone's contact list and make POI calls if the phone is associated with the POI.
I was thinking of cutting the area where the ceiling lights are and making a custom setup for it up there.
You can get one for about $550 on ebay and possibly that price on Amazon. The GXM 30 (XM radio and XM traffic) antenna is extra BUT if you don't care about Bluetooth then the Garmin 2730 comes with the GXM 30.
Oh, yeah, it has hard drive space for MP3s.
Just a thought until someone figures out how to get the latest GM nav head unit to work in the VUE.
