My wife has been experiancing problems driving while driving our new 2007 Vue. It seems that when she is on the freeway coasting at 70-75 mph when she goes to speed up the vehicle doesnt respond. she has let the vehicle slow down to 50 and still pressing the gas pedal down the car does nothing the rpm gauge stays at a constant 3000 rpm the whole time and until she drops gears down to fourth the car will not accelerate at all. This has happened a couple of times when she brought it to the dealer they wanted her to leve it with them so that the mechanic could look at it which is fine but they told her that the mechanic would take the car home and use it as if it were his personal vehicle until he can duplicate the problem. So that brings me to my questions. 1. Has this happened to anybody else? 2. Does that sound right that the mechanic should drive our vehicle home and use it like his own car? I understand the need for test driving and duplicating problems since i am in a technical field but to use a vehicle for personal use to verify a problem. Currently i am in iraq so i can not verify the problem.
