So I tried to remove the bong last night. Got the headlight out after taking the front cover loose, got the airbox out, got the top nut off as well. Found the bottom nut and could get my hand on it but cannot get a tool on it.

So what is the trick without majorly tearing down the front end?

Haha! ;) ....ok, got that out of the way....not sure how different bongs are betweeen v6 vs I4, but the one bolt was removed through the fog light (removed it - well, in my case, I didn't have fog lights, just the cover - used paint stick, slid underneath bottom lip, dead centre, and pried up a bit and it popped off). Used a couple of rachet extensions to reach in and get it. If you have small hands, you can reach in up between the front fascia and bong, and get it too. I was able to get mine out without tearing off the front-end, lots of fussing, but it came out - thank god for a flexible front-end.

Oh, here is a picture of an I4 bong if it helps at all...

Mine was a little stubborn, so I trimmed a small piece off of the tube that goes to the air box and out it came.

Ha! They look identical v6 vs I4.....that lower bolt is a pain to get to, but if you can get your socket on it, it isn't torqued down very hard.....

Yeah that is the same bong as I have as well. That lower nut is a real pain in the Johnson. I have 2 or 3 swivels. I'll try again next year to get it out.

Looking at it you would think that most of it is wasted material. All they needed was a pipe to go from the intake point to the airbox and about 1 inch larger in diameter to match the intake pipe going over the engine.

Well, I de-bonged my V6. The toughest part for me was getting the fascia to separate so I could get the bong out.

I took it down the road just a little ways. The results? Let's just say I had a grin on my face when it got to the higher RPM's :-)

Now to see if my wife notices the difference!
