Hi everybody. I got a problem on my hands that I hope someone can help me with. I recently got a 2003 Saturn Vue that was running fine, but ever since we took it into the dealership for an oil change, it started acting funny. When I lock the doors the lights flash for a very long time, but that's the small part. Now, when I'm driving, sometimes the car will make a loud revving sound & will start slowing down. I can pump the gas pedal but it will still keep happening. This is especially bad on the highway because it's dangerous, and I usually have geniouses following me close while my hazard lights are blinking brightly! After I pull over for a while it stops, but then it starts happening again eventually. After this has been happening for a long time, the service light finally came on. Does anyone have any idea what can be causing this?
did you check the oil level?

Does your Vue have the VTI (continuously variable) transmission? If you indeed have this you should search in the Vue forums for the "VTI transmission". There is extensive feedback, unfortunately negative, from former owners having in-warranty and out of warranty problems of this short-lived transmission. My apologies if I conveyed bad news on your first post but welcome anyway to SaturnFans. Perhaps I'm wong and may you enjoy the exchange of free information Saturn owners have here.

I agree with the last 2 posts. If it's the VTi, I pray that you are still under warranty.

As a fellow 2003 VTi owner, that is something I am paying close attention to
Sounds like it is your VTi
Let everybody know what you find out
Good Luck

FYI the warranty on these VTI transmissions has been extended to 75k, so even if you're out of factory 3/36 (which with an '03 you almost certainly are) you could still be under coverage if that's what it ends up being.
