I have seen and heard a couple of you guys have lifted your Vues a couple inches. I'm wondering how you did it and if you are running larger tires.

Reason being is I want to run 245/70-16s (since what I want doesn't come in our size) on mine but when I mount them, the front spring/shock mount is supposedly in contact with the tire.

Now the spring spacers won't fix this as the mount is fixed to the lower suspension and not the body.

So are you guys running stock diameter tires with lifted suspensions, or what?

This is for my 03 Vue V6 AWD.

The one solution I've come up with is wheel spacers to push the tire out about an inch and out from under the mount.

I put 235/70-r16's on mine. Run them in the winter. You won't fit anything larger than that in. I had about 5 millimeters clearance to the strut tower when they first went on, and it rubbed a little when I turned all the way to the left hard. I did have a 2" lift by way of spring insterts, but it dosen't affect where the tire sits. Don't think you'll get 245's in there. And wheel spacers are an accident waiting to happen, if they would even push it out far enough without rubbing the outer fender.
