Electrical Problem

I bought a 2006 Vue in 8/2006 and since day one I have an intermittent electrical problem. As I am driving the car the interior lights will come on and stay on while at the same time the door locks will unlock a couple of times. I took to dealer I bought it from and he said it was the aftermarket alarm system that was in the car that was the problem; took it to them twice before the problem was supposedly fixed. The dealer had the alarm supposedly removed on the second time. After 2 months the car had the same problem in two consecutive days but then it was okay for about 2 weeks and then it had the same problem. I decided this time to take to a dealer closer to me. The dealer told that the computer did not read any faults and that the car was driven for10 miles and nothing happened. A day later the problem showed up again took the car again the dealer told me the same that the computer did not show any faults. Has any one had this problem in their car, any help will be apprciated. Thank you for your time.

I've had the same problem in 04 AWD RL. Have the dealer check all the door switches. My right front door switch was not being actuated properly and was just as intermittant as yours is.

Thank you very much for the information, I told the dealer to look at the door switches to see if that is the problem.

:D You're Welcome. It took awhile for them to figure out it was the right front door switch ( three trips to the dealer IIRC ). It drove me crazy, but it hasn't happened again since the switch replacement. I hope you really get to enjoy your new Vue.

Good tip on the door switch. That's where I'd put my money, too.
