I need some new front brakes, i have been looking around online, but i dont know what to get, i would like to get something that can handle the heat better, so something like cross/drilled rotors. My question is what kinds are good, or what are some good front brakes that you have gone with, and had good luck with. and if you could list where i could find them that would be a plus! thanks.

Crossdrilled and/or slotted rotors won't do anything for heat dissipation. Get a good quality rotor from a company like Raybestos or Brembo. Any auto parts store will have them or have the ability to order them. Avoid "white box" or "store brand" rotors that are made in China. You get what you pay for.

Drilled/slotted rotors were used extensively on racing machines for various reasons. There seems to be little advantage to use them on ordinary street machines beyond the interesting appearance they impart to vehicles where the rotors are visible through the wheels. Indeed there would seem to be enough potential drawbacks to them for daily driving that the advice to buy a good quality standard rotors is probably sound.
There has been debate as to whether "cheap white-box" stuff is any good, but I think there are few who would say that the name brand stuff is anything but a good safe choice. Make sure you use good quality (new) pads when you replace the rotors, watch the wheel lug torque and break everying in carefully for best long term results.

On a street car, they're just eye candy. They don't do anything FOR you and actually make it more difficult for your rotors to dissipate heat.

A few decades ago, they helped race cars prevent a build-up of gases between the pad and rotor as the pad wore down at high speed (effectively "lubricating" the system with super-hot gas). That hasn't been a problem on street pads in decades, but somehow the "legend lives on" and people have this odd notion that it helps them. If you're into eye candy and don't really care about the performance issue, they do look cool. 8-)

well thanks for your opinions, so my best bet is just some regular rotors, and new pads (of course).

Yep. If they're available (I haven't checked) for the VUE, Hawk HPS pads are a nice compromise between performance and longevity. I use them on all my vehicles. For rotors, you really can't go wrong with Raybestos. Based on heresay on these forums, you might want to avoid the OEM rotors. :D

If you are interested in the Hawk brand and Brembro rotors and are having trouble finding them, I noticed that they are for sale on TireRack.com.
Hawk HPS and LTS Pads were $79.
Brembo rotor was $57 each.
