I have 40k on the engine and got codes that idication multiple missfires!!!! I read one thread with someone who had about the same problem. My 04 still runs fine, it threw the code when I passed someone at 75mph. I was wondering if anyone has had the problem and what has saturn done to fix it.????

What are the codes? Any other codes? With the codes erased can you get them to come back?

There are many things that can cause it..... Is it codes for misfires on every cylinder? Car run fine now?

God I hate getting these..... PITA to find it quickly.....

It is the p300(multiple misfire) p301 p305 for cylender 1'n 5. The car runs perfect. And yes it has done this code 3 times for me. I clear it every time and it still pops up. It does it when I floor it and it shifts into another gear, not every time just here and there.

Have you checked the coils and plugs for cylinders 1 and 5?

The PCM needs a calibration, take it to the dealer and they will get it together.

Or possibly the PCM replaced and terminals fixed....

Somehow I cannot believe it is the coils or plugs. I will lean to the pcm update. Now someone mentioned a bad connection on the pcm is this common??? It just seems like you would feel something in the performance of there was a bad connection. It runs to consitant. Thanks for the help though. Will the dealer charge for a re program or re flash of the pcm???

Well just today I hit about 97mph without realizing it (california freeways are easy to lay your foot into it when there is no traffic) and I tried to step on it again, well it turns out the engine light flashed at me again (i'm guessing that you can only go 100 mph or slower???). I plugged my scanner in and got the identical engine missfire codes as last time. So the other times I get the same codes the computer must be screwing up thinking i'm going too fast or some rpm protector????

Agreed. I have seen 3 early build 3.5 with that issue.

When was your VUE built? What month/year?

05/04. I was just interesting that I got the exact 3 codes when I tried to breech the 100mph limit. These are the EXACT same 3 codes it has tossed at me on much lower mph occasions, but at high rpm's.
