Funky fibrating noise on 2nd gear shift

On my o6 2.2 vue, I get a tinny rattling noise when I shift from 1st to 2nd especially at the gear light or on any kind of incline. The techs at the dealer noted it but found that they could duplicate it on another new one also. They don't have a clue what the sound is.

I'm really into watching a listening closely to my vehicles for the 1st sign of trouble and this policy has never left me stranded with a mechanical breakdown.

Anyone else notice the in their 2.2 stick shift:?:

You have a heat shield loose on your exhaust system. A lot of the '04s we had on the lot at work seemed to do this when new.
