Has anyone mounted their own rear air deflector for the VUE? I am referring to the Saturn one, not a 3rd party product. Is it difficult to do, or am I better off having the dealership install? I don't like to pay their $80/hr labor fee just to turn some screws, if that is all that is involved.

The deflector's final mounting is basically just with 3M adhesive pads that are already adhered to the mounts.

The instructions are quite clear that come packaged with the deflector. There are 3 pieces, the deflector itself, and the left and right side mounts. You assemble the 3 pieces together - the mounts are each attached with 2 supplied phillipshead screws - and then slip the assembly in place on the tailgate to find the proper placement before final installation.

With the deflector centered on the tailgate - there's a notched area that allows the highmount center brakelight to be visible and that helps visually centering the deflector - you run a strip of masking tape on each side of both mounts.

Slip the deflector back off the hatch, disassemble the mounts from the deflector, remove the protective covering on the adhesive and individually adhere the mounts to the hatch within the masking tape guides you had placed on it. (It's recommended that the temperature be about 70º outside). After the mounts are in place you screw the deflector back to the mounts.

You could always just buy the deflector and physically look at and then decide if you want to spring the money for the dealer to install it.

:D It`s really no big deal just take your time and follow instructions it took about an hour after I washed it and doubled checked the location. :flag:
