When i fill up my 02 vue The gas gauge only reads about 3/4 on it. Has anyone else had this problem and or what is the cause? Thanks for any input.

thanks to the lovely design on the vue gas tank there are 2 fuel pumps. and 2 sending units. in my experience generally the sending units have gone bad, but sometimes it is a BCM issue. you should take your vue to the dealer to get this problem correctly diagnosed. hope this helps!:)

Same prob on my 2006 Vue V6. Got it to the dealer and changed the 2 sensors but the gauge now reads between 3/4 and full, before it was 3/4. It took them 3 times to the dealer to find the problem but it still does it a bit. Don't know what to do now.

you might want to try a bottle of GM engine cleaner.....many Vettes had gas gauge issues and the GM cleaner cleared the problem up....seems sulphur content of some brands of gas caused the problem.....

from everything I read about the issue, the best results were obtained from using the GM cleaner from the dealer.......aftermarket cleaners were not as effective, and in some cases, compounded the problem.....

There is also an updated calibration for the PCM addressing this concern for the 04-up. With the 02-03, probably a secondary pump/sending unit.

Mine just goes down faster than it used to. I used to get about 100 miles per 1/4 tank reading. Now I'm lucky to hit 213 miles (dunno why 213, but thats when it hits 1/4 lately,) by the time the tank gets down to 1/4 gas left. I can usually get 320 miles before the gas light comes on though. Go figure.

Given the mileage numbers on the VUE, it would have been nice to get the slightly larger fuel tank that is in the Equinox to extend the range a wee bit more.

My fuel guage has always shown below full, even after a fill up. I reset the trip odometer after a fill up and when it gets to around 300 miles I start looking for the Costco to fill up for cheap. Remember the fuel in your tank also cools your electric fuel pumps so never run it dry or you could damage them.

My gauge is the same, it has always showed below full even when very full. It doesn't really matter cause it,s only a gauge. The fuel mileage will be the same and it only indicated approximately how much fuel is left. I don't really mind if i only do like 175 Km with half a tank cause when the gauge is indicating 1/2, it's not really at half but higher... anyway, not concerned by this. I went to the dealer and they did the update.
