Not that I am aware of. Just 2 fans with different speeds...

Got my answer yesterday and yes they ARE two speed (hi/lo). While idleing in the drive way with a/c on, fans kicked into HIGH and what a roar. After a minute or so, things cooled down and fans switched back to low.

djb383: You got your answer before I had time to check my 2006 VUE manuals, but as you know they are 2 speed fans.

are there any fans or anything i could do to make that fans quieter on high fan speed? i am just tired of having it be that loud roar.

Probably not but the loud roar = good cooling. I've only heard my fans go to hi speed once - after 5 to 10 min idleing with a/c on and high 90s outside.

I would think that the only way to do that would be to disable the high speed switch, so that the fan could never run at high speed. This would also seem to be a foolish thing to do as the fan switchs to high speed as needed to keep the engine cool. Disabling the high speed switch could result in damage to the engine and I am sure would void your warranty if you are still in it. I think you just have to live with it.
