Hey All! I just bought a Saturn Vue 2002 4cyl 2.2 and it is over 100,000.
I am noticing that its kinda hard for me to get it into 1st..no grinding just have to move it hard to the left then up. I know in the older S series the connection at the stick shift and the cables would wear out and I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone with a VUE? I am bringing it in to my local dealership for an inspection, but am looking for a heads up on what this might be...but other than that..I am truly driving the car of my DREAMS!!!!

I believe it was OhioVueBoy that had to replace his master and slave cylinders for his clutch. From his experience, it sounds like it would be wise to replace both at the same time if they are found to be bad.
See this thread. (http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77363&highlight=master+slave+clutch+cylinder)
And this one. (http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66888&highlight=master+slave+clutch+cylinder)
Might be others...

i don't know if it is the clutch or not, because there is no grinding and there is also sometimes a clicking coming from the stick shift when I don"t do it just right...if it were the clutch wouldn't there be grinding?

Our 02 Vue developed this problem early in its life and the entire shift mechanism was replaced under warrenty. Its been fine since.

It could be a number of things. It *could* be a failing master cylinder - but if it has to do with how hard you are having to pull left I wouldn't think so.
Here are my threads about my and other's failures... these are just a few:
