My wife left for the grocery store, and I found a small puddle of coolant in the driveway. When she returned, I could see coolant dripping from under the engine. I crawled under, and it looks like the water pump may be leaking.

Coolant leaks are a lot like blood: a little looks like a lot. I think it's lost maybe 50 cc. The leak is new today.

Is there any known issue with the water pump seals on these? 34K miles.

Matt42,

Water pump death is imminent. Get it replaced ASAP. Also get checked out for thermostat failure. Both of these items replaced on my 2003 3.0 V6 Vue. Do NOT run the Vue with low/none coolant.... Seriously bad news

Hope you are still under extended warranty!

It was the water pump. My wife also had the dealer change the thermostat. In this climate, thermostats tend to fail sooner than elsewhere.

For a while, we were three down out of three cars. Truck in body shop for paint. Vue at dealer for water pump. Then late in the day, the 84 month battery in the SW2 suddenly died when my wife tried to start out of a dental appointment. We got 37 months out of that battery, which is simply amazing here!
