Early this morning a glitch on the SaturnFans server caused the site to be shut down for about 6 hours (between 2:30am and 8:30am). The problem blocked site access to an estimated 200-300 visitors. Visitors during this time received a "forbidden access" error. A glitch in my web host's database affected all of their customers who had exceeded this month's traffic threasholds. Saturnalia has fallen into this category for the past six months. I contacted my host this morning after I was alerted of the problem, and they corrected it ASAP.
SaturnFans.com has experienced incredible growth since last summer. Lately the site has been attracting nearly 3,000 unique visitors ever day. Over course of a month those visitors view more than 3/4 million Saturnalia pages. I never imagined that I would ever see my web stats so high. As hits increase, it is inevitable that I will run into growing pains like this. I promise to do my best to avoid as many of these pitfalls as possible.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you this morning. Thank you for your continued support of SaturnFans.com.
