Even with all the camouflage, the finished product is apparently staying true to Opel design and GMDAT engineering. Edmunds expects VUE v 2.0 to hit the streets by the summer of 2007.

I don't like it, body wise.

the frontera and the camo car...they look almost identical
It appears to offer less space than the current VUE. So, because of the Outlook they are going to shrink the VUE to widen the differences... actually now that I write this I think I had mentioned this in some earlier posts about this model being the potential new VUE.
Personally I think they should offer the camo options. :)

To me, it is screaming Toyota Matrix! Then again it is hard to judge with the covers on the back end. When I first saw the Opel concept pictures a while ago when the whole 2008 VUE hoopla all started I thought, not bad, different, but not bad, but now I am so glad I got my 2006. I am really a fan of the current body style. If you read the article it does state that it is going to be slightly smaller than the current model to make way for the new Outlook.
Kind of looks like a Rav4 to me and I can't stand the look of those things.

I will reserve judgment until we see it without the camo....or until I get the X-ray glasses that everyone else seems to have to be able to tell how ugly it is through all that black nylon and padding. :dizzy: I like what I see so far.

I'm not a fan of the 'fast back' style rear end they are putting on these things, where the rear hatch comes down at a good angle. In the spy shot picture, the angle looks very pronounced. The top of the hatch looks about midway over the length of the cargo area.
I bought my SUV so that occasionally I can put fairly large things in the back. With the angle of the rear hatch, it is going to cut down on cargo space. The current Vue is pretty good.
For example, I buy a decent size TV. The sides are straight up and down. I want to slide it in just far enough to close the hatch. With the angle of the glass, you'll have to push it in further, if you have the room to do so.

I am with you here... Now, they can slope the bejezzes out the hatch as long as they opt to allow the rear hatch glass to open... I loved being able to store longer things and leave the rear glass open. I doubt that this will be available tho.
I miss my Olds Bravada for that reason - and that reason ONLY. ;)

Suspect polymer panels and Honda engine become memories in '08 Vue.

This is supposed to offer a 3rd row of seats, IIRC, so it would probably offer more space inside.

Wish it was 2 doors instead than I wouldnt mind it shrinking a bit. However if they give it more power than the current VUE I just might get that when it comes out, or might get the outlook. I want to replace my 05 AWD V6 with something new, so I am doing the waiting game untill all the new suvs are out.

Space is the one thing reviewers brag about in the VUE.They usally praise its larger size to its competitors.IMO buy up all the 06 and 07 models. There will never be another VUE like the ones were driving now.

I don't need to see the camo off to see what the body looks like...I hate it.

I don't understand their statement about how it will be "slightly smaller" and "closer in size to competitors"- the RAV4 got bigger this year? The dual exhaust could just be more camouflage. It's not that ugly, but I like the current Vue styling better. That's ok, I wasn't planning to buy another Saturn anyway- especially after they lose the poly panels.

I agree. You can still tell the body shape of the vehicle even with the camo. No x-ray glasses needed either! Spy shots are posted for people to "see" and begin to create their OWN opinions. Whether you like the new look or not, everyone is entitled.;)

The main difference between Matrix/Vibe and VUE is 7 mpg. Souds like the Vibe style is the wave of the future (instead of littel wagons)
Surprisingly the Vibe has almost as much space inside; I've measured up both.

This rear pic of the Captiva looks like it has rear window hinges and a handle on the glass near the wiper..... Need and opening hatch. Need an opening hatch...
This thing sure looks like the spy shots post in this thread.

Yes, I agree. I would like to have the window in the hatch open. That is the only quirk I have with my VUE. I've had too many things fall out on me when I've opened the hatch. I can't always use the "grocery cage" because I have a stroller in there and also the cargo mat.
The captiva doesn't look that bad. It seems that the VUE spy shot has a bit more of an angle in the back. It's not a horrible look. I just like the current look better.

Aren't those like the Red Line wheels? I could be wrong. I thought they were very similar.

I've noticed that it seems awfully close to the Captiva. But, the Captiva will be sold as a Chevrolet in Europe, and as a Holden in Australia. The Opel Antara is to be the next VUE, and I can't see the Captiva and Antara being this close.
The Captiva isn't the best looking car on the outside (definitely love it or hate it), but the interior is pretty nice as a whole.

I personaly like the Captiva and the new Vue. Looks good so far. The Captiva is the Sx3 renamed. Slap a Saturn badge on it and I would buy it.. Just my two cents

It appears to offer less space than the current VUE.
That remains to be seen, but dimensionally the '06 VUE is exactly as long (within .1") as the Captiva, and is actually .4" shorter than the Chevy. The only dimension where the Captiva is narrower is width: It's .6" narrower than the 2006 VUE.
