the tire size is 235/65/16... would there be a problem going with a 235/60/16 tire? This is about a 3% variance... any feedback?

BTW... they are snow tires...

Thanks!!!

Welcome...
The only real differences you will probabally notice is that the speedo will be slightly off, the ride will be a little stiffer and it may actually feel a little crisper in the handling department (the tread pattern/compound may negate this) . I have 225-60-16s on mine currently. The only real draw back IMO is that the wheel is a little less protected from impacts due to the shorter sidewall.

Thanks... I hear you about the bumps... hit them easier since there's less room between the outside world and the wheel rim...

I have a question for you... Do you have any warrenty left on your car? If the answer is yes, stay with the OEM size. Saturn will likely void your trans. warrenty if you have any problems with that part of the car, saying it's the fault of the size of your tires. I replaced mine with the OEM size availible with Cooper Lifeliner SLE's 235/60r17's. They are a great tire and no warrenty issues since they are OEM size. If you have no warrenty left, then go right ahead. Good Luck!!

I put a set 235/6016 on my vue a few weeks ago. The goodyear tires are an improvement over the bridgestones. :D

I replaced my "Duellers of Death" about 20k miles ago with 235-60R-16 Kumho's. Yes, the speedo is off slightly but the tires have been fine.
My next set will be Kumho ECSTA STX 235-70R16. The 70 series tires fill up the wheel wells better (IMO). This should even out the mileage over time :D !

It's just a sad damn situation that Saturn picked the 235/65/16 tire for the VUE when there are only a handful of replacement choices available. Even Michelin only has one (Energy LX4), and it's easily the worst tire they ever made, going by the reviews. The other 'choices' are not even available at most tire stores, only on-line, then you have to pay shipping, plus beg somebody to mount and balance them at $25 each. Well, I'm determined to stay with the original size. I'll let you know if I find anything. BTW, I have TWO of the damn things, so I'll be looking for TWO sets of nonexistant tires!

Cooper makes a nice tire in 235/65R16. We sell quite a few of them at the dealer. I forget what model it is. Also if changing tire sizes make sure you change four at a time. If two tires are of diffrent size on an AWD vehicle you will kill that viscous clutch in the rearend in no time.

Oh yeah?

Try finding OEM tires for a Vue RedLine to replace the *'Tourettzas'!!

Apparently, these ( 245/55/18R BFGoodrich T/A KDWS )will work...but, are they OEM enough not to void my warranty?

Grrrrrrrr.....

(I call them *Tourettzas, because the standard 18" Turanzas give me pseudo-Tourette's syndrome, just thinking about how LOUSY they work in the wet and snow / how MUCH they cost to replace and the terrible tread life...)

sorry...this post is more of a rant than helpful...
