Am getting static from our satelite radio when going thru FM. Is there some way to eliminate this other than getting a deck with a direct port. This is on a 2005 Vue.

I tried several attempts to get my XM to sound decient. I had (have) the XM2GO which was ok, I bought the fm interface to clear it up, it was better but still not great. So I replaced the entire head unit with a built-in xm. Well worth replacing the entire head unit with a quality radio IMO. I updraded mine to NAV/XM/Ipod...bascially the works.

I'm in the same boat with my Sirius XACT receiver. I really don't want to replace the whole head unit since I like the stock look.
I've got the FM bypass and it really didn't make too much of a difference...its just sounds like a medium quality FM station..I especailly notice it with the high frequencies.
Is there a way to direct connect to a stock head unit?

If your stock headunit has a cassette you can use a cassette adapter to feed the output of the satellite receiver. That'll be close to hardwired quality. Barring that, there's probably not much you can do.

FM tuners are iffy at best, cassette is 2nd best to a hard wire
installation. Recently saw some good deals at the local Best Buy,
will be making an appointment after the holidays to get my Sirrius
unit installed.

I installed the XM Roady2 in our 2004 VUE.
I have NO problem with static. It states to locate the XM antenna as close as possible to the Cars antenna. I put it right up against the passanger side roof rail and using the 88.3 freq on theFM stock radio to pick it-up.
Living in Metro Atlanta area it works just fine. See photo :tounge:
