2002 Saturn Vue Fluctuation Problems

May be someone can assit me. I have a 2002 saturn vue and having spedometer fluctuation problems. It appears that when the park break is active and the ac is on the speedometer fluctuates out of control and a noise as if the door is open alarms.. I changed the speed sensor but nothing happen. Can anyone assits me or direct me somewhere where i can ge help.

The body control module is the most likely cause to your problem.
It controls just about everything electrical including the instrument cluster. The door open alarm sound suggest its the BCM rather than an instrument cluster or speed sensor.
Reprogramming the BCM may help , if you need to replace it watch Ebay (I picked up a new one on Ebay for $50 last week). You can buy a used BCM already programed at : www.car-parts.com

IMkenNY is right on the money ! My 03 vue had a similar problem and the BCM swap out took car of the issue. If you do a search in the saturn sl forums you will see the same symptoms.

You can swap out the bcm with a used unit under 30 minutes but, there is some fallout from that.

1. Your remotes will need to be reprogramed.
2. Your mileage will be dependant on the mileage of the "donor" car (ethics issue ;-)
3. You cannot change the mileage on the used BCM's they are designed to be programmed without the ability to "roll back" mileage .. or so I have been told

IMkenNY may be able to confirm the reprogramming of the mileage as he has one of those super trick tech II programers.
