Another problem!!!
Now my ABS comes on at every stop!! As soon as I am almost at a complete stop, there it is, that bloody "Errr" sound. Any one have this problem, what can it be??.....before anyone asks, yes, the road is dry with no leaves! Happens all the time. Have to bring it in because when it activates, the car does not stop right away so it can become a problem if someone is in front of me..

Assuming there are no slippery surfaces at every intersection in your area (heh.)...

The ABS is seeing a drop in wheel speed for one or more of the wheel sensors. THis is the normal way that the ABS gets activated - one or more wheels lock, the ABS modulates that wheel until the the rest of the wheels show no motion.

That being said, if you are on dry pavement, the stopped wheel being reported to the ABS computer is likely due to a bad sensor, or possibly some bad wiring. There is also a potential for a bad reluctor ring (toothed wheel that "tells" the sensor how fast the wheel is going) but they are rare.

best to have a dealer look at the car, so they can fix the erroneous sensor.

if you need to drive the car in the mean time, pull the ABS fuse, so you can drive with the base braking system, sans ABS.

Sounds like a bad wheelspeed signal from one of the wheels. I assume you don't have an ABS light on before or after the stop?

no light....

where is the fuse.... I have to yank it! Never did like this ABS so I might just keep the fuse pulled after it's fixed! (it's awful in the winter!)

not exactly sure in a vue, but probably in the under-hood fuse block.

Pulling the fuse is a temporary measure until the sensor is repaired. I do not recommend pulling the fuse permanently. The ABS may save your life one day on a slick road. get it repaired, and leave the fuse in.

Yes it is awful having complete control and being able to steer around possible accidents on slippery surfaces....why do people always want to deactivate safety devices like DRL's, ABS, airbags, etc.?

I've had more "scares" & "close calls" in the winter with this crappy ABS than I ever had driving without ABS in my previous cars, that's why......
I blame the GM designed ABS, not the ABS itself.

A defective ABS system is more dangerous than no ABS system.

In my experience (I've owned 4 GM's with ABS), GM's ABS systems suck.

Does any one know the exact location.....I'll rush out at lunch and pull it.

Most likely a rear wheel speed sensor (usually the right side, but not always). You can get them separate from the hub and they are easy to change. You would need a friend with a Tech2 scan tool to monitor wheel speed while driving but if this is not available change them both and save a headache down the road. Good luck!
