From what Im reading does this mean that the days of the Honda V6 are numbered, and the days of the VUE as a performance SUV are finished?

Still looks hot even with the added doors  I wonder if the alcove in the center dash will house a navagation system? I'm pretty sure that I'll be trading my '04 VUE when this hits the streets!

I heard that the Honda V6 will not be in the 08 VUE, but that it will be replaced by a similiar GM engine.

It's great, isn't it?! Roger Smith must be rolling over in his grave...
I think that GM should just put the Saturn name to rest along with everything that it stood for, and just start calling the new "Saturns" what they are - Opels.

I thought it stated a 150HP V6 will be the new engine,or will the 3.5 be the top engine along with the smaller V6?

And then what would be left for you to discuss?
I won't live to see it but I can well imagine you rocking on a porch swing at the old folks home trying to engage your fellow residents in a conversation about how you drove your 97 SL2 for 1,379,000 miles before the state grabbed your drivers license for failing the eyesight test. Probably be cackling about how you went through seven engines and trannys but that the polymer panels were original equipment and still looked as good as the day you bought it ;)

Built in Korea or in the US? Not sure whether the development was WITH Daewoo on the Theta platform or to be designed AND built @ GMDAT and exported to Germany/US.

I don't think Rodger Smith is dead...Perhaps the notion of Daewoo Saturn will kill him and then he will role over in his grave. Or did I miss his obituary

The 2008 VUE has GMDAT DNA, so yes, Daewoo played a major role in its development.
From what I've gathered, the Opel version will be built in Korea and exported to the European markets.
Though the actual site of 2008 VUE production has not yet been made official by GM, the Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, plant (which also builds the Chevy HHR) is the most likely candidate.

I'm a little concerned w/ the next gen VUE being Daewoo built. What is this going to do for the quality of Saturn? I don't think that the Daewoosthat were briefly sold here were known for their reliability. I'm sure it'll look good, but I'll be weary until its reliability record is proven.

From everything I've heard on here, the next VUE will be built in North America and the European Opel counterparts are built in Korea. The VUE will have powerplants more in line with GM North America then GM Europe.
It seems GM is doing what Hyundai is doing with the Santa Fe--the Tucson takes the place as a compact SUV and the Santa Fe becomes a midsize SUV. The VUE will be midsize and the new upcoming smaller-Theta SUV's (GM would like you to call them "sportwagons" ) will be the new compact SUV.
