2005 Vue Oil Canister Size

What size socket fits the cap of the oil canister on a 2005 4 cylinder Vue? Also, what is the recommended torque for the Oil pan bolt and lug nuts?

aftermarket vs. factory filters might not be the same, so you need a sample of the filter you use to match up the removal tool. I have 6-7 different end-cans in my toolbox along with another 5-6 strap-type wrenches, and a universal removal tool that tightens down on the filter to remove it as you rotate: THAT tool sucks and rarely works.

The 2005 Vue does not use the typical filter that you twist one. It uses the canister style located at the top of the engine that other posts have been describing. You just unscrew the top and I need to know how big that nut is on top so I can get the correct socket. I got a 23 mm but that is too small.

Sorry, I forgot about that....I will still thinking of my 2004 with the regular can type filter.

You might locate a tape measure and try to measure it that way.
