Hi,

Today I used a generic poor fitting power supply for my cell phone and it fell apart inside of the front cig lighter (aux port front dash board area). I go to plug in my radar detector and it will not work. Nothing works, no power.

There are no parts missing off of the cell charger, it works on the aux port in the arm rest. I checked the fuse AUX1 (15amp) fuse in the engine compartment fuse box and all is fine.

I pulled off the facia to access the port and it looks fine, everything was in tact. I have uploaded a picture of the port. Is it missing something or am I checking the wiring fuse?

EDIT: For some reason I can not attatch the image from the gallery, it is in there.
Thanks,

Tim

Check all of the fuses including the ones inside the car. Passenger's side of the lower console.

I looked at the owners manual again today. I realized that the 15A fuse I was looking at was wrong. It is the 20A fuse that is for Cigar/Rear Aux power.

I should of known that. :dizzy:

Anyway, it was the 20A fuse and it is fixed now.

FYI>>> When You buy a cell phone, do not go cheap and buy some brand "X" power cord for your phone.

Most generics are fine. Sounds like the one u got was a POS from the begining. I have an OEM and a geneic for my cell The generic actually attaches much better than the OEM.
