Can anyone tell me how to replace the side mirror? The orig. cracked- I thought I read in a different thread that you can just break out the old one and the new would pop in and be held by 2 adhesive strips- tho the replacement mirror I got has a plastic backing and 3 hooks sticking strait out the back of it. Do I have to pull off the whole mirror assy.?
thanks for your time-
J.

Cover the mirror glass with tape.
Rotate mirror glass to expose the outer edge.
Insert a large flat-bladed tool into the slot between the mirror glass and mounting base.
Gently pry the mirror glass until the glass releases off the base.
Remove the glass.

a heat gun can also help release the adhesive, but get it to hot(maybe 300F?) and the plastic backing plate will melt/warp.

I successfully broke out the old glass and removed the old backing plate, but I'm having a heck of a yime popping the new backing plate/ mirror in. Afraid I will break the mirror if I push too hard to snap it in place. Any suggestions?
thanks again,
J.
