What is the best NOS kit for a SL1???
Will most likely get a turbo and nos this summer.
Just want to know if anyone has any experance with nos and what works best with a saturn.

What turbo are you planing on getting and is your engine SOHC or DOHC?

I hear that the Venom NOS system is good, i am not sure if they offer one for saturns though.

Whoa there big guy. You don't want a turbo AND NOS. You want one or the other or you'll be buying a new engine real soon. I don't think you can regulate the both at the same time well enough to prevent detonation. You can buy a good NOS system from cwcmotorsports or from venom-performance.com. The venom is awesome. Secondly, you can get a turbo from Knight Turbos. Turbos are very involved. Not a very fun install. Personally, I'd buy a supercharger. Catalyst will sell you one that can get you some wild HP.

I was not planing on runnig nos and a turbo both at the same time all the time just once a month (at the most) it is just for when i come up on a nos powered 5.0 or something of that nature at the track. and the nos is only a 55 shot

i have a SOHC doing a DOHC conversion this summer also,

I am also putting in reinforcements in my block to run a lot of boost that is why i want the turbo. Just the fact you can get an amazing amout of boost from a turbo.

I believe you can safely run NOS and a turbo at the same time. You would need air/fuel and timing control. Nitrous actually complements a turbocharger very well, as it prevents turbo lag and shortens spool-up times. I think you could run a 40 or 50 hp shot at lower rpms (I think the Apexi Super AFC has the ability to shut off or turn on the flow of nitrous at a specific RPM.) and when the turbo spools up shut the nitrous off (time for some serious dyno tuning). This would make for a serious street machine with power at almost all rpms. With the nitrous you are overcoming the shortfalls of the turbo.

...dump the clutch at 2500, hit the nitrous, shut it off at 4000, run the turbo up to redline...we're talking 13's here!

Nitrous is fairly common on FI cars. It also drops the temperature by 50-60 degrees, acting like an intercooler. Saturn Motorsports is using nitrous and a turbo. Pretty sure you'd have to rebuild the engine before it could handle all that power though.

As far as Nitrous kits go, I just bought a Zex kit. $450 shipped brand new. Don't buy it from CWC. You can find the same Nitrous Express kit anywhere on the internet for $100 cheaper. The Venow kit is around $1000. I'm now facing a dilemna where I might have to get a wet kit and sell mine. :(

Generally with Nitrous and turbo systems, the nitrous is employed when the turbo is spooling up - the place you are not making big power.

Hey evil sounds great. Hey what's your email? I have 4,000 saved right now and more on the way, but having trouble deciding what to do. Do I go turbo and NOS. Do I go supercharger. Do I buy a 91-92 strip it and turbo as well as turbo on daily driver? Too many decisions. It is hard finding a reasonably priced 91-91. I saw one for 4,000 with no key lock mud, dog hair, cigartte holes, smelled like dog piss, huge scratch on side. I was excited I thought it would cost 500-1200 for that POS, but I could rip everything out, but no $4000!!!
