i saw on somebodys saturn webpage (don't remeber where it was) once that they changed the lightbulb in their dash so it was red light instead of white how would i go about changing the color? is it just a different light bulb or just paint the current one with a clear high heat red paint? thanks for any info.

I know that with the white gauge sets, they give you a red bulb sock. It slips over the bulb...literally, like a sock.

It depends on what year of car you have. My 2001 SL1 has lights behind the gauges and lights that shine down onto the gauge faces from the front. I think 1st gen Saturns are only illuminated behind the gauges. I am interested in doing this myself too. You could experiment with different colors since there are two sets of lights. Just about any "rice" automotive website out there should have colored lights for that purpose.

How hard was it getting access to the light bulb? Are the guages any harder to see. I'm really curious to see how this turned out.

Don't know if these kits are available for the G1 and G2 cars, but it looks pretty cool. I'd put one in if I was planning on keeping my car.

Switching the rest of the lights over to blue would be cool as well.

Does your tach and speedometer have like a blue border around it? It's hard to tell from the pic but it looks pretty nice.
I like the way the white faced guages mix in the saturns.
