Sorry for the double post, but my pics got screwed in the first post, so as the subject implies, this is the FIXED post.

Ok seem alot of you are not sure how to do this. I read literally hundreds of threads, and decided to try it. I was successfull, as DRL's are out and both lows and highs are working fine.

Well, here's how to do it. This should work on all 94-00 "S" Series. I've included pics.

***DISCALIMER*** Try this at your own risk. There may be legal issues involved. I am in no way responsible for any electrical problems that may occur. Bottom line, if your unsure, don't try this.

Tools you will need:
Flathead Screwdriver
Wire Cutters
Pliers
3 - 4" Piece of wire (this will serve as your jumper)

First, disconnect the neg battery cable.

Next, remove the underhood fusebox cover by unscrewing the knob in the center.

Now find the DRL relay on the diagram inside the fusebox cover.

Locate the DRL relay in the fusebox (black box, has the number 5180 on it).

Using a Flathead Screwdriver, carefully pry the relay out of the fusebox. It's in there pretty tight, but it does come out.
You will see 5 slots for the pins in the relay.

Now take 3 - 4" piece of wire (12 guage works nicely) and strip about 1/4" off each end. Insert the two ends of the wire in holes
30 (bottom left) and 87a (top middle). You can find this info on the bottom of the DRL Relay.

Reconnect neg battery cable, turn on your high beams. They should both work, and your DRL's should be non-functional.

That's all is too it.

EDIT: GRRRRRR I hate photobucket.

Here's a quick fix for the broken pic link.

Locate the DRL relay in the fusebox (black box, has the number 5180 on it).

Jeez. Anyone know of better pic hosting than photobucket?

I was just wondering if this is in any way hazerdous? Is there a possibility of a fuse breaking, or sparks arcing? I've been wanting to disable my DRLs but I don't wanna do it if its a fire hazard.

All your really doing here is bypassing the relay. No danger of fuses breaking or fire. As for sparks, that's why you disconnect the battery first. It's easy, give it a try.

Take off your center console, and look for the switch at the base of the hand brakes. You can tap into that, but with the DRL off, you'll get a "Brake" light.

But watch out who you listen to on hear...i mean here.

If you only occasionally want to disable your running lights, you can simply pull the parking brake lever up to the first "click". Assuming things aren't adjusted super-tight, the lamps will go out at the first click, but the brake will not be dragging yet.

While this also works on our "L" series wagon, the little warning chime starts dinging, at which point you can turn the radio up or try to ignore it.

Good Luck!
