I have not been able to find an air intake for my SL1 they seem to be all made for 95s and up. While browsing through a sport compact magazine i saw an add for a company that makes them for all SLs but dummy me forgot the name of the company. Id also like to upgrade the exhaust but dont want it to be super loud just nice and aggressive sounding with a nice 4 inch chromed tip. Any suggestions with these and all other aspects of SL1s is greatly appreciated. I am already ordering the springs tonight and already have very nice 17 inch rims along with a nice sound system. Please help!!!

You can get an intake for a 95+ DOHc and then get a 3" exhaust pipe and have it bent to go to the throttle body. I was going to do this to my 93 SL until it blew its head. For an exhaust, go 2" crush bent. Most exhaust shops will be able to do this for about $250. Be sure to get a resonator like a cherry bomb or something. This will give a deep tone without being "ricey". For a muffler, most people I know use the Dynomax Super-Turbo.

I too have an SL1 and have seen ads in sport compact magazines for intakes for the SL1, but after researching this nobody really makes one for the SL1. I have seen on the weapon r website that they can custom build you one. You just have to send in a bunch of info. What i did for the time being was just made a custom pipe out of 3 inch pvc and put a Nakayama/K&N filter on the end and tapped the air temp sensor in. I also had to put a rubber boot on the end to connect to the air box inlet.

You could do like I did and modify a HotShot Intake designed for a 95+ and cut it down so that it will mate up to your factory air box. Then all you have to do is remove the factory air filter and plug the two drain holes in the air box. It works and I've help a few people do this, with everyone happy with the improvement in hp and the cool sound it made. I have some instructions on my web site on how to do it(http://www.crosswinds.net/~chrisnos93sl1/customparts.html). If I can answer any questions about this or anything else, feel free to give me an email!!

I have an '01 SC1 with a flowmaster 50 series (3 chambered) muffler on it and a thick chrome 4" tip. My car sounds slighty louder than stock. It's no where near what a Honda sounds like. I heard that Borla makes a mean sounding muffler also. I wish I could record how my car sounds...it's really deep and powerful sounding, and the SPS intake's rattle really compliments the low noise of the muffler. It looks really clean too! My car is all N'SYNC! :)

take it easy,
