Hey guys, remember me...I traded in my SL1 for a Camaro SS in September but I'm still around! Anyways, a good friend of mine just started selling cars at Saturn of Capitol Expressway in San Jose and he just told me that somebody stole one of the special edition yellow SC2s off the lot a couple weeks ago. Such a travesty. Even though it sucks for the dealership, it kind of made me think, wow, Saturns are now considered worthy enough to be "stealable" by some crooks! Not that that's a good thing, but it just shows that Saturns might be starting to get that "cool" image they so desperately need.

I just got my yellow SC2 back from the shop this past week. It's so sad that people want to damage one of the coolest cars on the road.

What I think is funny is that they wrote "suck car" on the windshield. Well.. think about this.. if it was such a sucky car.. why did they want to steal it in the first place?

It's just too bad that they want what I have :)

damn Saturnguy. I am sorry to hear that. I wish the best for you. I hope nothing happens to your baby again. I personal love the new yellow saturns. How could someone have the nerve of messing it up.

Man! My 1991 SL2 was stolen with me still in it! I was shot twice for it back in 1995. Anyway, Lowrider SL1, you're from San Jo', so am I. E-mail me at low_saturn@yahoo.com. We have quite a few hooked up Saturns in the area that get together every once and a while.

I have one of the yellow saturns also. It had something happen to it but not an act of vandalism. I was hit by a minivan while stopped in rush hour traffic. The funny thing is that the minivan got more damage than my car did. I guess that's what she gets for buying a chrysler product. I just got it back from the body shop and it looks as good as new but it makes me mad that my car is new and it has already been violated.

As for the look of the cars I have gotten lots of jealous looks and even have people trying to race me. I have even got girls yelling that they love my car from across parking lots. So I definetely give the color a thumbs up.

I hope that I never have to experience any acts of vandalism with my car, and I know how it sucks to get a new car damaged. Jealousy!

Yeah the yellow kinda induces a sort of rage in people i've never seen before.

I guess that I'm glad my car's plates say ISXYCAR (one sexy car) not 2SEXY4U (too sexy for you). That'd really tick some people off.

No really tho... before the "vandalism" some guy road raged me and ran me off the road. People have nothing better to do than wreck our canary yellow SC's.

Whatever...

wow. Sorry to hear about your cars, guys. I thought I was the only one with bad luck when I got my car. I was driving home from L.A. about 4 weeks ago at midnight, and I was taking an off-ramp (a really sharp offramp!!!) to merge onto another freeway and the city just happened to be doing some repairs on that offramp. The offramp goes slightly downhill and makes an immediate right turn and into a full half circle! I was driving down the offramp too fast and I kind of turned into those barricade walls that the construction people use. That was a damn shame. The left front side of my 2001 SC1 was a smashed. What's even worse is that I couldn't go through my insurance company. They would have either raised my insurance another arm and a leg (it's already high enough as it is now, seeing as how I'm only 19, I have only been driving a year, and I have a brand-new car) or they would have kicked me off my parents' plan. I can't afford that. So I had to pay $2,500 to Country Club Auto Body just for them to start on it!!! And, today or tomorrow when I pick my car up, I have to give them another big fat check. I'm so depressed....

Well, thats my story. Sorry to hear about all your guys' experiences. It really sucks when your batmobile gets spanked.

take it easy,

Wow, that really sucks about everyone's car. Hell, I guess I'll add my own story. Last month I was going to school in my dad's 1998 SL2 and was rear ended. I came to a stop at the traffic light when all of a sudden I hear skidding and see a 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix barreling toward me. As I took my foot off the brake to try to move away, he smacked right into me. Fortunately the damage was minimal, only $900 with labor. The bumper was pushed in a bit, the decklid was mis-aligned and the passenger seat was busted. Oh well, it wasn't my fault, and the car's all fixed, so I'm happy :)
