After driving for serveral hours on the highway I stopped to get gass. When I restarted my 2000 LW2 3.0L (L81 engine) the "check engine light" came on. .
After connecting the ODB2 computer the error code came back as P0030
The oxygen sensor that is screwed into the exhaust manifold from cylinder 1,3,5 (closest to the dash) .
The problem is either the sensor or the ECM computer unit (very expensive)
You can test the voltage, but I threw causion to the wind and decided to just replace the heated oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 1 -
www.saturnparts.com had the part for $90 - part # 24450850
1) Make sure the engine is cool
The sensor is right where the exhaust from 1,3,5 cylinders meet.
2) Disconnect the sensor
3) Remove the red power cable from the battery
4) With a 22mm wrench loosen the old sensor - Once it's loosened you can use you hand to unscrew the rest of the way.
5) Install the new sensor.
6) connect the battery
7) I used the ODB2 computer and cleared the codes
8) Your done!!!
