That number is 1800-553-6000. I mention this as I've had to use it everytime my fuel pump fails. Twice on the freeway (#405) in southern California, once while sitting at a fuel pump, and yesterday afternoon, while leaving from a red light. Knowing what the symptoms are, simply coasting to the side and parking, went well.

One might think that this service is only available to those car owners still under warranty. Not the case . The operator will tell you the nearest Saturn dealership -- I already knew them -- and arrange for a tow. Out-of-warranty owners, will be charged directly from Saturn, over the phone, via credit card.

With the above in mind, I suggest that the telephone number always be in the glove compartment, or as in my case, in my wallet.

Having a cell phone in the car made all the difference.....

AAA will tow for free...well, there's the annual membership, but you can use them something like 5 times. Trust me, it's one of the better items I have in my possesion. When by engine blew, and when my brakes locked and broke scoring the whole inside of my rims.

As it's reasonable to assume that there is a distance limit, does anyone know what it is ??

I prefer AAA also. AAA cover even roads (e.g. Turnpike, Parkway) that permit only their own towing facility. I don't know whether Saturn CA has any dealing on these control roadways.

One thing peculiar about AAA joint membership is that, if I use up all my 4 towing for this year, I cannot use the 4 towing that my wife hasn't used for this year.

Standard membership: 4 times a year, up to 3 miles free, then $3/mile to the destination of your choice (or free to the nearest AAA approved repair facility regardless of a distance).

Plus membership: up to 100 miles free.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, for my charge was $45. for a "hook-up" and $7. per mile. And from the discussion I had with the truck driver, Saturn simply calls AAA, and AAA calls them. (((However, I can't confirm that information)))

Question: "Plus membership: up to 100 miles free"

Is a "Plus" membership different that a "standard" membership as to fees and services available. I like the "Plus" service idea; particularly with my amount of distance/daily driving.
