L-Series Tail Light Swap

I have a 2000 L series and am tired of playing with the bulbs
Apparently the 2000 had a bit of a circuit board problem that was corrected mid year, causes bulbs to go out all the time

I just bought a new taillight on e-bay

How do I take the old one out and put the new one in?

if it's an electrical problem, you're not fixing it...

anyways, open the trunk and on the edges you'll find torx screws, remove those (and because i'm not familiar with the L's) look inside and if there are any screws, remove those too...should be pretty easy to find, twist the socket and remove the base, replace as necessary

I don't believe the problem is beyond the bad circuit board in the light
