two. the first was a new blue green 1992 SC manual with option package B, sunroof and CD. it had 182,000 miles before it was rolled and totalled. the second is a certfied used red 1996 SC2 manual with the option package, cassette and alloy wheels. it has 150,000 miles--still going strong.

1993 Gold SW2, Auto - one owner car with what looks like all Saturn dealer maintenance through it's life with 145k, Alloy wheels, a few minor quirks, but it is 11 yrs old!

It's official.... I'm now truely a Saturn Addict.... Who ever thought y'all would get me out of Dodge's camp? I used to bleed Mopar.... *laughs*

I have owned two. My first Saturn was bought brand new in Nov. 1995. The 1996 Saturn SL2, dark green, loaded with everything but a sunroof. Now I still own her (she's ALL mine, paid off!) as a drag car. The other was a 1996 SC2, gold, loaded with everything, including the suroof. Was bought used in 1998 and traded in 2000 for the Windstar.
Loved that coupe, but the kids were getting bigger and whining about the lack of room in the back. *sigh* I am still looking for that special coupe now, since I have two big vehicles to transport kids, race car, and groceries....

My first car was a 93 Silver SL which encountered some unfortunate engine problems :( and was traded in for a 99 Medium Red SL 1. The SL 1 was a lease and then I purchased Raven who is a 2002 SL 2 silver black. Saturns are all I have ever driven :cool:

It then became a family affair when my mom got her 98 blue SL 2 and then traded it in for a 2003 black VUE. Now my fiancee just purchased a gold 97 SW 2. Our neighbors have a silver 99 SL and a red 2003 VUE. Needless to say I know a few saturn owners :D

Hey guys good to be back I know some of you already know the drama I've been thru with my 3 Saturns I was going to bore you but I changed my mind because its old news. My baby, my 1997 SC2 that been broke for over a year that I bought 2 years ago tomorrow is fix and running great. So I am happy as can be. She's a black sc2 fully loaded manual with sunroof and a happening stereo system totally aftermarket.

My other cars were 1st a sl1 green 2000 and a sl1 black 2002

Umm... I'm only on my second.

I am with you on the ION - yuck - I love my VUE, but the Curve in fire engine red just might lure me away :-)

I have only owned one... 95 SL1 Midnight Blue, w/Grey Interior. Just got it this past September, up til then I wasn't really interested in Saturn's had never even test driven one. Drove nothin but Ford's for 6 years straight, before that my family has owned a 1986 Dodge Aries SE Wagon (POS), and a 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix which my Mom loved. Now that I do own one I like it mainly because I find the car easy to work on so far, and the flexibility of the Polymer panels now when I park in the supermarket parking lot i'm not as jumpy about people being lazy and leaving shopping carts everywhere.

I did hear a rumor that GM was contemplating a Saturn pickup but it would be nothing more then a rebadged Colorado/Canyon. I always thought Saturn would eventually make a pickup with Polymer Panels (not a rebadged Chevy or GMC), that would truely be unique not to mention practical. Trucks usually take alot of abuse, at least a Polymer Paneled one wouldn't dent.

Since GM is doing away with the panels however this is not likely to happen in the near future even though I think it would sell well. You'd have alot of Businesses buying them for their Commercial Fleet, and a good 4x4 version would be fun to drive in the mud :cool:

Just for your information, my dad is a very rational and loyal man. Once he is with a company he sticks with it. However, in 1991 he read some articles regarding the new Saturn wanted to learn more. So he drove us 2 hours to the dealer in albany, ny (the closest one to our house at the time) and drove home with a 1991 saturn coupe. Its red and almost fully loaded. He liked it so he purchased it off the lot (only car he has purchased like that). My dad still has it and hopes it to be a classic one day. Since he liked the car so much in the first month, he bought another saturn the next time we went for an oil change. This time it was a sedan ordered from the factory. I was 11 at the time and with all my activities I was involved in and vacations and such, it was easy for us to put 50-60k on a car in one year. So every year he would trade it in for a new one. He would always go to the same dealer every time to buy his car. Same salesman too (though now the salesman works in the service department).

Now, when I got my license, we did own one chevy blazer that became my car. It died when I was in school, so mom was kind and gave me the 96 SL2. Once I graduated and accepted a job as a civil engineer in NJ, I purchased a 2003 Ion 3 as my first new car. I had to buy it from Danbury to get all the rebates. It was on their lot and was close to home. When I purchased my Vue, I purchased it near my new appt, so I got it in Eatentown.

PS: Both my parents and my girlfriends parents have been told their driveways look like a saturn used car lot.

Our latest addition is Lorie's '05 ION QC2. It's Summer Blue, which to me is like Baby Blue, hence her nickname: BabyBlue.

I have owned 4 Saturns

1993 SC1 - manual, purchased in 1996 and had numerous problems with it. It soured me on Saturn for a long time. I really liked them when they came out in 90 and really wanted one someday (I was 15 in 90). After having that SC1 for 18 months I said "never again". Well, what do they say "never say never"

2002 SL1 - manual, got a great deal on a lease, then my job moved me and I was heading way over the mileage so I turned it in early and bought a:

2004 Ion 2 - manual with the sport package. LOVE IT! Well, our other car at the time was a 2001 Cavalier Z24 that was too small for us because our family was growing so we traded it in for a:

2004 Vue FWD 4 - manual with the sport plus 2 package. We love it, the only thing I don't like is the lack of power, but this is an SUV with a 4 cylinder, it is much heavier than the Ion. My wife drives it mostly, I typically only drive it when we go on vacation.

Thanks, It all worked out though...my SL2 ran perfectly fine, but otherwise it was falling apart:

- Half of a bullethole on top edge of driver's side front fender (Went to a party one night, when I left I found someone else's driver's side window blasted out...and across the street was my car with the half-bullethole and a slightly cracked front windshield (which grew and eventually had to be replaced).

- While driving to work in 2000, my passenger side mirror struck a trash bin on the street and was knocked off. I tried glueing it back but it just left some glue residue on the door. Ended up getting it replaced by a retailler, but the new one was black and my driver's side mirror was silver.

- My passenger's seat back broke in July 2004, I tried to buy a replacement deat from 6th Planet, but they F@#$ED UP on my order, and gave me a 93 seat (different design). Fine, so I ordered a '93 passenger side seat from them to match, they F@#$ED UP my order AGAIN and gave me...a '92 passenger side seat! (Which I already had!) I brought this problem up with them SEVERAL times, they said they'd take care of my order but eventually just ignored me. I ended up just using the bottom of the '93 seat and the back of the '92 seat. Still not a match but at least the seat backs match. Oh yeah... F@#K 6TH PLANET! NEVER ORDER FROM THEM!!! THEY'RE A RIPOFF!! I LOST NEARLY $200 from those crooks!!!!!

- My odometer broke in September 2004, fortunately I got it fixed by buying a tiny plastic gear for $30 from www.odometergears.com. My local mechanic would have charged me over $200 to have the damn odometer repaired!!!

- The plastic front window columns broke off from their snap-in fasteners and rattled when I drove. The passenger side vidor also rattled too, and the seat made squeak noises as the car vibrated.

So though I'm a little sentimental about losing my first car, my '92 SL2, I got a nice new ION, and I'm a happy Saturn owner again.
