Should Saturn offer an in-dash navigation system in its vehicles as an option? Do you think doing so would raise the perceived quality of Saturn interiors?

Post your thoughts.

Thanks!
Charlie

I believe they should offer it as an option if it is an available GM accessory. Let Saturn buyers decide if it is worth the cost. Now that Saturn has been brought closer into GM there is no reason that any GM designed enhancement shouldn't be available in Saturns.

I like the idea of the in-dash navigation system. It should be either an extra factory option itself, or part of an options package.

Absolutely!

I think it would be a great marketing strategy for Saturn. It would show that they can still be a leader in their class in available options.

eh. people are too distracted already. perhaps make the nav system work as a heads-up-display so you don't have to look 'down' at it.

Nope. Too much money when you have AAA and things like Mapquest.
I'd think it was more distracting than a cell phone too.
Not only that, again, there's this paranoia about people being able to track what I do and where I go in my car.. That little black box is more than enough! :D

Sure, but as an option. I wouldn't get it. I'm a real man, who uses his keen sense of direction and a good ol' fashioned map:D

I agree completely. Let the "rich and the terminally lost" use their navigation systems. For those times when a map won't do the job, I use a GPS unit, being the good geographer that I am.

If they offered it, I don't think it would change the preception of Saturn interiors any, mostly because I think most Saturn interiors have MUCH room for improvement.

You don't have to take long trips with a woman very often, do you?

I agree. Keep a current Rand McNally in the car too. Those navigation systems aren't perfected yet. I don't think it would sell well as an option. Heck, getting lost is the best way to find new things.

I find that mapquest often doesn't give very good directions.

Offer it or not is not the a major issue.
Problem is how much they should offer it at dealer price?

They offer the DVD system in L-series too.....and most of them are slow seller. People who bought Saturn are most (if not all) price-concious. A Nav-system option for couple of thousands just won't cut it.

Simply imagine this: A VUE with an onboard Nav-System but still equipped with Drum brakes at the rear wheels.......this really makes me laugh.

I see no reason for a navigation system. It's useless and it's just another way for car companies to make money, but like those bright annying xenon lights.

it would be nice. provided all the equipment needed doesn't take up too much room.
