I have a 2000 LW2 3.0L V6
I had the following DTC:
P0402
P0405
Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Flow Insufficient -
I reset the computer a couple of times just to make sure and the DTC always came back.
*I must stress how easy this is*
I ordered a new EGR valve from awgolden.com for $169.00 which is much less than $239 from my local dealership.
The EGR is located near the intake in open view ontop on the engine - back left.
Two T45 bolts need to be removed along with the computer connection ontop.
- wait till the engine has cooled -
remove and wipe off any carbon. Next install the new EGR and reconnect.
Your done with the install!
You can either clear the DTCs with a ODB11 computer or just disconnect the battery for 10 minutes.
So, my local Saturn dealership was going to charge me around $400, which ended up costing me $175.00
Pretty cool...

Do you know if the location is similar on an 2001 LW300, 6cyl?
I have the same code and the car is behaving the same way it did
when I had a previous EGR problem....

all set...found it...

Before I order a replacement, I'm wondering if I should try to clean it first...
The replacement is $177. I may order a new gasket before removing the current one, just in case it's damaged or in poor condition...

The symptom I'm having is a minor hesistation/surge at low speeds.
