Do you subscribe to GM's OnStar services in your Saturn? Why or why not?
Post your thoughts,

Nope. It was available on the LS trim, but didn't want or need it :p

didn't see any real need for it. The possibility of misuse by insurance companies bothers me.

It was an option for my Ion which wasn't installed from the factory. I don't think I really need it anyway. If I would ever break down or anything, that's why I have a cell phone...:)

It was available for my Ion3 as well, however I would not have bought that particular car if it had it.
The repeating monthly bills are what kills you and I also carry a cell phone and would call service myself.
I also don't like the idea that you are being tracked and that they can unlock your car remotely.
The only good thing is if someone steals your car, but one of the things about Saturn is they are not high theft targets. I guess if I had some $55K+ Escalade or something the extra $20-30 per month Onstar cost would be no big deal, but for my own needs it seemed pointless.

Wasn't available, and wouldn't have got it if it was.

The monthly bills are the factor that makes me uninterested. Most of what I would use it for outside of emergencies can be done on my cell phone.

OnStar wasn't available for S-Series. In emergencies, the cellphone has served me well.

Even if it were available, I wouldn't get it. If a car I owned had it, I would disable it.

We have it in our VUE. We've used the 911 feature a couple times report accidents. Used mostly as a hands-free phone.

Even though they push all the "helpful" stuff, I don't feel it is worth it. I also am a tad paranoid at even the thought that strangers, no matter that we pay them, having the abilities to track my car, unlock my car, call police to the location of my car, or even call me when they feel it's needed. Scares the crap out of me.
Just too scary for me. I guess my technology stops at the computer. An old one at that.

I bought my car used, so I didn't have a choice. Even if it had come installed, I wouldn't have renewed the subscription, because it just isn't worth the money to me. If they build in a navigation screen, I may at some point decide that it is worth the money.

No need. Don't need another monthly bill. Money can be spent on more important things

My ION wasn't set up for it, but I'd like to have it. My sister has it and uses it all the time -- directions, dinner reservations, that kind of stuff. Hello, On Star? Take me to the nearest Starbucks.

I don't think it's worth the money... had it on a few Cadillacs that my family owned (my mom traded in her STS to get my SC, and then the Catera for an L300, YAY! :) ) but with everyone having cell phones it's pretty much a waste of money.
I don't recommend it. Not worth the ridiculous amount of money it costs.

You get so much more for your money these days with the current cell phone plans - OnStar is just a waste. I can surf the web on my cell, view directions on my cell, etc.
That money is better spent on other options....

I'd love to have it -- I have a roughly 120 miles round trip daily and think it would be a great assett... Unfortunately it wasn't available as an option on my 2002 L200. :ugh:

Almost the same here. I could have gotten it on the Z71, but didn't see a need for it. I'm even thinking about shutting off my cell phone when my 2-year contract expires this summer.

it was an option for mine too.. maybe if I was rich and had money to spare, otherwise I can spend the money elsewhere on more important things.
