Anyone here been to CafePress.com? You can make shirts, mugs, etc on there by just uploading an image, then start a store and actually profit from it. I think some Saturn Fans shirts would be kinda cool, but Mugs and Mousepads would be even better.

I tend to agree. I would probably opt more for the t-shirts though, but minus "Saturnalia". Just say "Saturn Fans"! Have you e-mailed Charlie about this?

Nah, I figured he'd come across it while reading some posts. Plus, I wanted to know what everyone else thinks first.

Sounds pretty cool. I really like my Saturn shirt that I got when I bought my Ion, and another, more specific shirt would be even cooler. The wider the selection the better.

I want a t-shirt. With some catchy phrase such as "Plastic makes it Possible" or something like that.

Yeah, I'd be in for some Saturn Fans gear...

FWIW, I'm also on a board for my Mazda MPV, and they indeed have a CafePress store already. I ordered a license frame and a hat. Haven't received them yet.

I really like the t-shirt idea. But I'd rather buy one from this website, so charlie gets a profit.

I think it is a good idea... will give a source of income to run the board... and will spread the word!!! :-)

I'd buy a SaturnFans shirt! (Especially if it's black. Hint, hint.) I'd also rather buy it through the site so that the profit benefits us, in a trickle-down sort of way.

SaturnFans static decals would be nice.

Yea, some other merchandise besides the plate frames would be cool. I just wish that we could set up some way that we could pay for the stuff without using a credit card. I hate credit cards!

I agree, "Saturn Fans" sounds a lot better. I cringe at the term "Saturnalia" because it always sounds like human body parts to me... :-(

I want a coffee cup. I am a coffee freak. Got one from a software company called Coffeecup once, just to have a Coffecup coffee cup. :D

I am planning on having some additional merchandise available towards the end of the summer. I did not want to invest too much money in other products before I had a chance to gauge the visitor response to the license plate frames. I need to be careful not to offer too much too fast. There's a huge upfront cost required in order for me to be able to offer good quality products at a reasonable price. That being said, I'm almost ready to take the wraps off a second SaturnFans product -- look for an announcement coming soon...

If you have any ideas for future products, please send them to me at webmaster@saturnfans.com.

Thanks!
Charlie

Charlie,

How about the Saturnalia Sky Roadster. I think you'd be able to deliver a better product.

I'd invest in that!

Frames are OK if they are your thing, but I'm a t-shirt guy. My license frame has my college on it & I won't replace it with something else. T-shirts are always something that folks can use an extra one of though. Nice BeefyT, heavy cotton ones in grey or black would be great.

I'm going to eventually set up a store with them myself for a local community site I run. I don't like all of their products, but overall I think it's a good idea.

The cool thing with CafePress.com is there don't have to be any out of pocket costs to get it going, if I remember correctly. Your items will cost a little more, so you'll get less profit, but it makes it easy to get started. OKay, not exactly your issue, but I wanted to share.

:D

I'm with piney. I liked the idea of the license plate frames, but you can only have one frame on your car at a time, and mine's a purple neon one that I don't intend to take off any time soon. Now, with T-shirts, there's no limit on how many of those you can have!

I use to belong to a VW New Beetle fan site, and what they did was kinda cool I thought, people would go out and take some cool pics of their cars, then they would all be entered into a poll. They also had more members than us, so it's manageable! Then they took the top 12 pictures and put together a calander, there is a website that does this, it may be cafe press. Anyway, they sold like hotcakes, and they came out really professional looking, like store bought ones. I thought it was a really cool idea!:D

They also have tee-shirts, baseball caps, frisbees, mousepads, mugs, stuffed animals, clocks, etc...

Just some suggestions
:D

**Unholstering my trusty dictionary**

From Webster's 10th ed.

1. the festival of Saturn in ancient Rome beginning on December 17.
2. a: an unrestrained often licentious celebration: orgy b: excess, extravagance.

Any way you slice it, sounds like a good time to me!

And on that same note, we women members could take the title "Saturnids" Latin for "Daughter of Saturn."

But we should probably avoid "saturnism" which means "lead poisoning."
