Yes it is, and I love it. I have the 6 disk indash changer with it. It is an awesome sounding system. Although I haven't tried loading 6 cds in there at one time, but I do have a road trip coming up in 2 months, maybe I'll do it then...:)

No i do not have the SAAS in my L BUT i do have the CD/Tape player which is cool but i upgraded my speakers and the radio blinks out because of the speakers i have to find another CD/Tape combo that can handle the speakers

no. Stock audio systems are lame, imo. Can get a way better sounding system for the cost of the factory upgrade.

It was the only black L300 on the lot with the options we wanted...so we splurged, if you will, for the Advanced Audio. Granted, no one in our family is an audiophile per se, so the Advanced Audio sounds very good.

It was "Yes"
But it got replaced with an empeg MP3 player, Infinity Kappa speakers, and a 10" RF Sub.
It sounds better now :P
But the ASS is still really nice, expecially if you don't plan on going to an after market system. If I knew I was going to go to after market, I wouldn't have gotten the ASS

The S-Series doesn't have the Advanced Audio option but I do have the CD/Cassette head unit with the 4 up-level speakers which was the best factory audio system available in the '01 SC2.... does that count :?:

I would rather purchase aftermarket equipment for the stereo system. This way, I can pick and choose the componentry that I want.

Got mine too, but at that time '01 they didn't offer the in-dash 6 CD head unit so I have to opt for using Trunk-mounted magazine box instead.
Works and Sounds well as stock audio, at least I don't need to sink extra money to improve it.

Oops, my bad. S-Series had "Premium Sound" upgrade not "Advanced Audio System". My vote should have been 'no'! :ugh:

Nope. Only audio my car comes with is the sweet sound of nitrous purges and tail pipe song. :D

I dunno. It's a 93 that came with a CD player with 6 band equalizer, and 4 6.5+" speakers.

That's nice of the crackheads to install another radio for you this weekend...... you may want to supervise them this time. :D

i got the base model: single cam, crank windows, am/fm stereo, 4 crappy speakers. but, being in so. california, it came standard with a/c. i have since upgraded to a kenwood head unit, 10-disc changer, 4 pioneer 6 1/2's, a hifonics 4-channel (which is currently wired as a 2-channel) and a crunch 2-channel. i'm saving some money to get a couple of hifonics 10in. subs as i already have a box and amp.

Both our 2001/L300’s have the Advanced Audio system.
One has been upgraded with two Pioneer speakers (1” tweeters) installed at the top of the windshield, on either side of the rearview mirror, providing a “center channel.” The sunscreen, printed on the glass, camouflages their presence. This has refocused the sound image from the cabin’s center. Vocals appear on a “stage,” located just beyond the windshield. Since I love jazz, I find the sound pleasing and natural. Cymbals, pianos, vocals are clean and traps are tight. The bass is solid but a bit light. I turn the bass equalizer up two clicks. Not perfect but pretty good.

After owning two L Series Saturns, one without and my present car with the Advanced Audio System, I can say that the difference in the sound is night and day. I never gave it much of a thought on my previous car. You really have to own both types to really appreciate the difference.

Yes, I have to Advance Audio System, I also had the dealership put me to tweeter in the rear doors. The sound I have with 9 speaker is wonderful. I love it because when I took my vacation I was about to load my six favorite disk in and listen to them with out have to reach to put a new one in while driving. I also was about to let my son listen to one of his cassette tape.
