Yea, I think this is going to be pretty swayed as most of our members are guys and most people who talk on car forums are guys, so I don't think that would really allow for us to see how women drive and like Saturns as opposed to men

I'm actually very proud of my girlfriend. She can distinguish between all the Saturn models and years.

That's awesome. My wife's the same way- she's a purist. When we were getting rid of the SL2, going for something larger, the only choice she would even THINK about considering was another S-series. Hence the SW2!

LOL! As one of the seven females on here, I was contemplating the question: "Why am I here?"
Here are a few of the reasons I have thought of (so far anyway):
- I have a "little" brother who LOVES cars. And he's always loved sharing his love for cars with me. He's in college now and I can't chat with him about car stuff as often as we used to.
- I like to learn about lots of different things
- I have had my share of "life experiences" when it comes to vehicles and would like to advoid as many as possible in the future - your shared experiences help with that
- I am one of those rare females who actually has my own tool set too
- I am always looking for good "funfacts" . . .

Don't forget "I own a Saturn." ;)
I didn't fill out the survey because I'm doing my part to get the ratio more equal. The current ratio is bad--something like 6 guys for every female. Not good.

Chicks are great... especially ones that like me, and really especially car chicks that like me. Hey, I'm 17, a male, and have no girlfriend.
At school I'm scorned upon for having a Satty, but with my gutted muffler (it had a hole in it and some 'hair' was hanging out, so I pulled on it, and pulled on it...) it has a killer tone, and gets rubber going into 2nd real nice... so, I like it. How many 1st cars do people have that can do that? (this whole "I love my Satty" thing is probably the reason why I don't have a GF. I need a GTI VR6 if I want one. Do I? Sort of. Do I like my Saturn better (assuming they were in same shape) Oh yes!
As far as car chicks go, even the ones that don't necessarily care for me, they're still great to talk to, and provide a whole new aspect on the hobby, so we need more.

its great to get the point of view from everyone who drives a saturn. the more diverse the crowd, the more we can all learn and appreciate why certain decisions and actions are taken by manufacturers.
it also affords us an opportunity to share multiple points of view regarding features and likes/dislikes.
welcome all and thanks for being here.

I'm from Spokane.
Here's my list for why this site attracted another girl:
- I bought my SC2 in November and hadn't gotten around to doing anything to it. Searched around a bit, and found this site. I'm happy I did!
-I know almost nothing about cars. I at least want to know my car!
-and, like Beautiful VUE, I love to learn new things

I'm one of those 7 females - did a lot of car shopping before finding my Saturn. Like Beautiful Vue, I have my own set of tools and can do some maintenence on my car. It's more fun to have Saturn do the oil changes though. I came across this site several years ago right after I bought my car which, by the way, is finally paid for.

Just another one of the guys here. Almost got married once, and have not been in any hurry to try THAT again. Besides, who the heck would want anything to do with a simpleton like me living in the stix with three dogs, two cats, two ducks, and SEVEN cars parked on the property? :o:

Actually, as one of the minority female set on here. I think Saturns have made me less "car-phobic". It's actually fun to tinker around with these vehicles.
The look on my dad and brother's face the first time they saw me approaching my SL2 with a tool set was comic. But I loved tinkering with it. It's also the first car I ever fell in love with.
Everyone in my family knows I loved my SL2 and now my VUE. When they were cutting down trees around our house one morning. My brother rushed in and moved my car (completely ignoring my mother's much more expensive car sitting in the driveway) Well the tree came down...crushed the trunk of my mother's car and would have totaled my SL2. They knew they would have never heard the end of it if my "baby" had been even scratched.

Ouch, I take this poll late...so now I'm offically one of the 8 female fans here.
This poll can take into account as Saturnfans demographic only. In reality I see more female drivers in Saturn (more in VUE lately).
Still in minority, just 8 female fans here?!

I'm a relatively new Saturn owner, but so far so good. This and Car Talk are two of my favorite forums. I do all of my maintenance and repair work myself, so I like to stay on top of things. This is a great site for info!!

Hope that clears things up. :)

Another satisfied FEMALE here.
I went to college for two years (79-81) for auto mechanics, and love every minute of it. While in the Navy I was an electrician working on boats. And in the Army I was a mechanic and truck driver. I drove 5000 gallon tanker, and everything else 5ton and below. So I think I can say I know a little about fixing and driving cars and trucks.
I retired out of the military, 26 yrs, 5 mths, 6 days. Believe it or not I am now a firefighter, (5yrs) and I can drive the firetrucks better than half the guys on the department. (200 guys) I don't know if its male mentality or just plan stupidty, but everytime the trucks are in an accident, it's the guys that's driving.
I had my fair share of cars and trucks and I've worked on all of them, including my family members. As far as tools are concern I have enough to start my own flea market. My Grandfather used to have me buy tools for him (RIP).
I now have four vehicles in my driveway that I work on;
2004 Saturn Vue FWD MTI V6 Black
2001 Ford Explorer Blue
1988 GMC Sierra Pickup truck Red
1987 Chevy 24ft Tioga Arrow Class-C RV
I totally gutted out the RV and reupholsted and carpeted and did the body work. On the other vehcles except the Vue I have done things from replacing the engine, transminssion, fuel tank, fuel pump, dash board, instrument gauges, and a whole lot of small stuff. They call me Gadget at work.
So I'm here to learn, but also to teach (a little).
Another outspoken FEMALE.
