I thought there was something like this already but couldn't find it.

Anyways in the market for some new 17" wheels for spring and frankly I'm lost again. I was considering the Drag DR-33 and DR-34, but they both look very cheap IMO after seeing a few pictures of other cars that had them on.

Definitely on a budget here want to keep it under $1300 with tires. The tires that I want to get are the hankook k110 btw.

So yeah, what wheels do you guys have/suggest?

I had 18" liquidmetal speedsters last summer but I wasn't a fan of the 18" look, felt too big and especially with the stock brakes isn't the look I want. Although if the price is right I would still consider them

Focal F16s are pretty damn nice, that is if you like a red lip. Anything by Focal though is pretty good, around 500 for a set is the average, which isnt cheap, anything less is just a waste in itself.

I can suggest you the Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2s. They come from England and I will buy myself that in 17 "or 18".

To optimally fit the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo. I've even tested on the Nürburgring.

Wow those will be sexy in 18", where do you suggest purchasing enkeis online?

From what I can tell from google do the Focals have a convex effect?

Borbet LV5 in Anthracite. I like the style, but need to see them in person, not sure how they would look with "black sapphire."

Those borbet remind me of some oem VW wheels

Found a thread, it's not a bad look but for some reason they look toyish to me :/

I think raderwerks makes some really cool wheels for a reasonable price, and they sell wobble bolts too

I like dealing with Tire Rack.

I did price out a set, mounted and balanced, with TPMS sensors installed, and it was about $100 higher than your budget, before shipping.

That is what I have. I've seen 2 other cars with them: both were BMW 3 series.

Borbet LV5 look like the original Opel rims. From Opel Corsa Edition "Black and White" and "Color".

Unfortunately I can not upload pictures.

That is the problem right now, the price is reasonable but with some of the wheels + tires I was looking at it was almost $200 for shipping. That on top of cross border duties makes it more expensive to buy it from them sometimes. I purchased TPMS sensors online last year and yet to install them so I won't be needing them from tirerack anyways.

With discount tire direct they offer free shipping to US but they generally only carry cheap wheels that are either heavy or a higher offset

How do you guys like the TSW jarama? http://www.tsw.com/img/jarama_silver_reg_pop_white.jpg
Although realistically on the 17x8 the lip is only 1.25"

Ya they do, personally I like the red lip with the thin spokes, but the F10s? i believe are also pretty damn nice if looking for 17/18s.

I think the F16 will look good as an 18" but for a 17" on the astra will probably look more like a 16" due to that lip :( Any idea what the dual bolt patterns are?

There are a lot of 5x110/115 out there but 115 is hard to sell LOL although In my personal opinion, I wouldn't mind putting 115 on my 114.3 car

Im probably going to get new wheels when I have to get new tires later this year. I would like something more along these line, but I have months so who knows what will come out between now and then.

This (http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelCloseUpServlet?target=runWheelSearch&initialPartNumber=2927710BDC&wheelMake=Platinum&wheelModel=Saber&wheelFinish=Machined+w%2FBlack+Accent&showRear=no&autoMake=Saturn&autoModel=Astra+XR+5+Door&autoYear=2008&autoModClar=&filterFinish=All&filterSize=17&filterBrand=All&filterSpecial=false&filterNew=All&filterWeight=All&sort=Brand)
or

I would like something darker with maybe just a little metal accents.

I have the Vöxx 347 in bronze on my Twilight blue Astra... They look darker on the car though. I really like them! 17" x 7", and I have Maxxis Victra MA-Z1 tires on them.

I think I'm in love with those Enkei EKM3 although they are on the big & heavy side. Found them on wheelfire for under 1300 shipped with Nankang NS-2's

I seriously considered the EKM3s. The best example I found was this guy's MAZDA3 (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2593107/2007-mazda-mazda3). Ultimately I didn't want convex shaped wheels.

New for 2011 the enkei lusso, good price too, the only problem/worry is how much of a lip can you get with a 18 x 7.5" wheel which is the only 5x110 size

Has anyone taken a look at motorsport technologies adapters? They are a very fair price for custom made adapters, the smallest size they have is 19mm (or 0.75") I think I'm going to go that route and get 5x4.5 wheels as there are so many used sets to find in vancouver

If anyone wants Eibach Pro kit 15mm hubcentric spacers pm me, I'll let them go for $120 if anyone wants them locally

What are the widest/most aggressive offset you guys have seen? I see a set of wheels that are 18x8.5 et30 wondering if it's too much. I ran 18x8 ET38 last summer and there was probably 15mm left in the rear, front is hard to say my car wasn't low enough. although I feel like the front wheels were a little more sunk than the rear

this is the astra of a friend of me.
he has 18"*8,5"ET35 and it is possible to drive it.
he has 215/35/18 tyres
and is lowered with a modified coilover

Damn that's sick

I ended up ordering some wobble bolts + some matte black tsw interlagos 17x8 et32
They aren't the most attractive wheel but I figured with matte black it wouldn't really matter, really wanted to run an aggressive 18x8.5 wheel but my common sense took over. I got some continental DWS tires which should be a great all season that will last a few years at least. The whole package should be under 40lbs so I'm expecting much better fuel economy than with 18's also :)

Haven't really got a chance to take pics of the new wheels on the car cause the weather wasn't great earlier this week hence the dirty car
http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/184672_10150092982747912_505467911_6372965_4231232 _n.jpg

The new wheels are pretty flush and a nice amount of concave for 17's IMO

Weighed these (with a bathroom scale :hmpf: ) came to 39.8 lbs which is about right with the tires, quite a bit lighter than my winter set (stock 17's with hankook icebears) Car is getting lowered on thursday so hopefully I'll get some nice pics by the weekend :)

Anyone know if there are extended wobble bolts out there?
http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5268/5735611154_1cdc0a69b5.jpg

This is my car 17x8 ET32 with a 5mm spacer

I tried an 8mm spacer with the standard length wobble bolts and I don't think it's safe at ~3 turns :(

I just realized the track of my car is now 2" wider than stock, I find the oversteer is a lot less snappy and turn in is a little slower IMO, I like the way it drives now though, feels larger but a lot more stable.

I think a 10mm would make it very nice but that's wishful thinking haha, it might start rubbing if I go with a 10mm eh?

I don't think I am putting any more money into this car though, I am saving up for a 2011 5.0 Mustang :D

Anyone know a place that carry BK Racing rims in Canada (aka VXR replica rims)?
