Who do you think will win Super Bowl XXXVII?

I'd like to see Tampa get it as they are a good team, but.... Oakland is so darn dominate this year.

**piney pulls out stack of tarot cards**

I see it coming down to a field goal in the 4th with Oakland on top.

As a Bronco fan I am a Raider Hater.

GO BUCS!

I don't care of the Raiders are in the AFC West... HATE!

:)

Either way tho, I hope it's a good game... I hate one sided Super Bowls.

I really don't care for either of these teams. I have always disliked the Raiders, and in a different era I would root (route?) for the Bucs (if it weren't for Simeon)

I think Tampa will win.

I think Gruden has somewhat of an edge, he knows the players on both sides of the sideline.

BTW Charlie, I liked the third choice on your poll :D

I really don't care too much...When both Pittsburgh and Atlanta were eliminated I sort of lost interest...

But I've got to go with Oakland.

well, i couldn't stand to see such a pass-heavy team win the SB, much less one so far (50 million) over the salary cap. Jerry Rice has plenty of rings, and his bald spot isn't getting any smaller. He took one monster hit from TN on the 1 yard line on sunday and fumbled the ball. lucky for him he also landed on it. The bucks are just too physical, and the raiders are too old.

Tampa Bay it is.

as much as i dislike them.

i believe it will be tampa bay. tampas has a better defense and you know what they say about defense, defense wins games.

I'm an AFC guy being from Buffalo but, the Raiders are the bad boys of the AFC and I liked Tampa when it wasn't cool to do so. Go BUCS!!!!
Go to NFL.com and click on the Bucs (top row). Pretty neat anime take off on the "Lord of Rings".:D

I should be rooting for Tampa Bay after what the Silver and Black did to my hometown J-E-T-S two weeks ago, but I think Monty Kiffin is in for a surprise if he thinks the Bucs "D" can completely shut down Oakland's explosive offense. Gannon will find the end zone even with a defense as good as Tampa Bay's.

I don't want a lopsided football game on Sunday, and this looks like a low-scoring contest. I'll be rooting for AFC which means rooting for Oakland. The score may not agree. In the battle of swashbucklers, victory goes to the Bucs, but by less than a touchdown.:whoa:

I...don't...care...maybe I'll watch if there's a good Saturn commercial.

Super Bowl or 5 hours of "alone" time with girlfriend...this isn't a hard question. :)

Too late to say Pittsburgh Steelers? Darn...

Guess I'll have to watch just to see the cool commercials. Now if I can only find out how to zap the game broadcast and only watch the commercials....anyone else have dishNETWORK?

I dislike Tampa Bay because of Warren Sapp and I hate Oakland just on principal but I believe the Raiders will win.

Nobody picked the Bucs over Philly and now I'm afraid that too many people are picking them to beat Oakland. Defense usually prevails in championship games soooooooooo, I'll take our Bucs by a final score of 24-21.

Whichever team plays to it's strength will win. If the Bucs can't stop Oakland's offense, and are forced to get in a shooting match with the Raiders, the Bucs will lose, since Tampa doesn't have the offensive weapons and quick-strike capability of Oakland. But, if Tampa slows down the Raider's offense, and it becomes a defensive struggle, Tampa will win, because the Bucs have enough of an offense to overwhelm Oakland's spotty defense. Hell, the Raiders had a hard time with the Titans. If it wasn't for three costly turnovers deep in their own territory, Tenessee could've beaten Oakland.

But since -- as they say -- good defense beats good offense, I'm picking Tampa to win.

Go Bucs! I have been a fan for a number of years and it is so good to finally see them get to the big game.

I think the Bucs defense is fast enough to put enough pressure on Gannon to throw off his quick passing routes to Rice, Brown, et. al....and I think that the Tampa offense is finally maturing after a full year of implementation and under the guidance of Brad Johnson, who, in my opinion, has always been underrated.

Projected score: Bucs 17, Raiders 13

Al Davis is evil and he must be punished.

As must the Oakland-Los Angeles- Irwindale-Los Angeles-Bakersfield-Fresno- Los Angeles- Oakland Raiders.

Great point. Besides Defense winning championships, the thing the people betting Oakland are forgetting is that Gruden built that team. He set that offense and the players in it. He knows the ins and outs of how it's run, and who does what in the formations. They may fool the Tampa defense a couple times but I'm guessing for the most part, Tampa will know what's going on. Also, the Tampa Defense is sooo fast. Gannon will not be able to run easily for the yardage he did against Tennessee. They will make him throw the ball faster with the corner blitz and up the middle pressure. It's going to be a good game.

I actually like both teams, but since I'm from Oakland I will go with "A Commitment To Excellence" OAKLAND RAIDERS.

The weather will be perfect for both team with the edge going to the Raiders.
Gannon can and will get rid of the ball quickly. The Raiders run the West Coast Offense like no one else and have all the weapons to do so.
The Raider will also know a thing or two as to how Tampa Bay will operate because of Coach Gruden
I think special teams will play a big role in this game.

Oakland 28
Tampa Bay 17

Glad I didn't put money on the game! There were a couple of lousy calls, like when they kept the clock running after Oakland ran out of bounds with just over 2 minutes remaining. They still had a shot at that point.

Something a friend of mine wrote...he's got a point...

im glad the raiders lost, cause i hate their fans, the raider
nation fans are a wall of scum. just cause their team lost, they set stuff
on fire and vandilized local stores. 23 were arrested, i think. but guess
what, these morons did the same thing when they WON against tennessee. what
a bunch of poopheads!

Some post-Super Bowl trivia:

Excluding last night's game, six Super Bowls pitted the top ranked offense against the top ranked defense. In all but one, (the lone exception being the Dolphins' 14-7 victory in Super Bowl VII) the defense not only came out on top, but did it in a big way.

With Tampa Bay's 48-21 victory over the Raiduhs last night, that statistic now becomes six out of seven. History, it appears, favored a big win for the Bucs.:whoa:

The Tennessee Titans will kick Superbowl butt next year.

Arnel

...apparently the Titans don't want to play the Steelers then...unless they don't mind us whipping their butts on 9/28/2003, at home in Pittsburgh!
