We were discussing these somewhere, and it started me thinking about a little symptom mine has had since day one - part throttle surging. I now think that it's simply the flaps trying to work, and maybe one or more have a weak spring, so they partially open then close. I get rid of it by giving it more throttle which opens them fully. If I had realized this last year when they took the manifold apart to check the 'vacuum chamber' after an ECM replacement, maybe they could have changed the springs or whatever out. It's really a minor annoyance, and any problem you can fix with a heavier foot isn't all that bad. It hasn't changed at all over the years, but if it were to get bad I would have to do something.
