Major 2005 Vue Problems

Hey everyone, My girlfriend's 2005 Saturn Vue is having some major problems. She will be driving the car and suddenly the car's engine will turn off. The A/C and all other electricals will work, she will put her foot on the pedal to try and gas it and nothing will work. She then has to put it in park, turn it off, and then turn it on again. Any idea?

Which engine: 4 or 6 cylinder?

What is approximate speed when engine stops? Always same?

Will it restart as soon as she can turn key again?

Or, must she wait for a few minutes?

Does the power steering go away when the engine stops?

Is there a check engine light (or service engine light) after Vue restarts)?

If its a V6 theres no point in "gassing" it...at the throttle stuff is electronic i.e. Drive by wire......just throwing that in there....
