View Full Version : CEL P2282 - 2004 Vue 3.5 Cyl AWD
Hi folks...
The CEL came on recently on our 2004 Vue.. with the honda V6 3.5 cyl.. I have an OBD2 scan tool which is showing a P2282 code, which basically says there is an air leak between the throttle body and air intake valve. Visually I don't see anything that's obvious.. I tried cleaning the throttle body, clearing the code, etc.. but it came back....
Anybody ever run into this code/problem?
I appreciate any help you can provide....
Thanks.. Mike

P2282 Air Leak Between Throttle Body and Intake Valves
This could mean a loose throttle body allowing vacuum to leak air into the intake system between the throttle body and intake manifold. Either firmly grab the throttle body and move it to feel for loose mounting or with the engine running spray throttle cleaner around the mounting flange where the throttle body is mounted to the intake manifold. A little squirt here and there may reveal idle speed changes as fluid is sucked into where it shouldn't. Even a water spray mist around the mounting area will do. Any change in idle speed indicates a vacuum leak.
thanks... that's the only thing I can think of as well... I ordered a throttle body gasket , and think I'll just take it off, and give it a good cleaning , etc.. and see if that solves the problem.
well... I bought a new throttle body gasket.. and cleaned up the throttle body as well... Put the new gasket on, cleared the code, and all looked good....as the code did not return, as it had done in the past immediately following my clearing it.....
Unfortunately my wife took it out the next day, and said the CEL is back on .. back to the drawing board.....
any other suggestions ???

You might want to check EVAP and PCV plumbing ... see attached FSM extract ...
thanks.. that did give me some ideas .. I will try to get to it over the weekend... appreciate the input..
well.. I replaced the throttle body gasket, and found a good deal on a used throttle body.. The P2282 code went away for a day.. and now has reappeared.
Can anyone point me to a good diagram that shows the various EVAP components involved? as that seems to be the last option...
Thanks,
Mike
