I have a 2002 Vue and I am having trouble with the HVAC blower not working. I have checked the fuses and relays...good. I have no 12+ power on the orange wire at the fan motor connection. I jumped it out and the motor works on 1&2, didn't try 3&4 because wasn't sure about the amp draw. But the motor does work doing this. Looking further into it I followed the orange wire from the fuse box behind the battery...thur the firewall and found a (I think 40pin) connector (near the hood release) the pins for the orange wire connection look burned and the plastic outside of the connector is getting warm. The connector is tight and after moving around the fan started working. What does anyone think of just clipping the wire on both sides of the connector and installing an after market connector so the wire is outside the main connector? Any thoughts please post. Thanks

As you've found -- the orange wire is the 40 amp blower feed from under-hood fuse box. If it were my Vue I'd replace all the wire I could reach with same size or larger wire.
I'd also try to avoid adding any connectors or splices if possible.
BTW ... the diagram indicates the blower ground is routed through resistors to vary the speed - except for high which is direct. These resistors are supposedly the weak point in the HVAC blower system.
It appears you've found another.

Check the fuse box back side for loose terminals on the connector on the drivers side. The wiring routes through the fuseblock harness and if the terminals are loose they heat and melt. Sometimes you can jiggle the wires with it on high and it will start blowing.
