I saw a very short segment on the news about an easy way to run a car off water and gas and I had wondered if it was a scam or something real. Here are the two links I found on the story. Could we do it on the vue?

Why don't you give it a shot and let us know how it turned out for you? The Vue engine is just like any other internal combustion engine.

Hmm, not going to try that just yet. Seems more like a scam to me. Just like this video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXajLGqafyk
You don't see the guy filling up with E-85. Nor does it show that he connected anything to the computer. Just a power relay to the fuel injectors.

I only watched the first few mins of it but he says he already conected most everything and ran the wires. I was thinking instead of paying for the kit it would prolly be on torrent sites with full instructions by now?

If he had hooked up everything else before starting the video, he should have shown that in the video. According to Pat Goss on Motorweek, there's a lot more to an engine with E-85 then just a fuel injector power relay. The fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel lines, injectors, computer, valves, and some other stuff that has to be changed due to consensation caused by E85. Check out this video

It is very easy to produce 'HHO' gas by running a current through water. The gas doesn't 'burn', it explodes. If you hold a flame over a beaker in which you're making the gas, the gas bubbles 'pop' but there is no continuous flame. This gas can be directed to the air intake of an engine, providing additional power, resulting in less throttle/less gasoline. It is difficult with today's electronic engine controls - you have to 'trick' the sensors to prevent the engine from defeating your purpose, but this has been worked out and kits are available.
Millions of people all over the world are working on this. It's very real. The question is, since the world's economy turns on oil, how long will it be before pressure from below overturns resistance at the top? You see, the big problem is, how do you tax water as a motor fuel? How do you make profits on selling it when it falls out of the sky free? If you think we're in trouble with the economy now, think about what happens when oil collapses because there is no market for it.

clean drinking water costs not much less than gas :P
I really would like to see about adding one of these kits to the vue to see if I get crazy gas mpg. Would that affect the longevity of the engine?

It's a scam. End of discussion.

It's a scam. There is no scientific merit in it.
