Has anyone every had to replace their ECM on their Ecotec? Mine just went bad leading to blowing out the ignition module, leading to misfiring, costing me lots of money. I believe the Cat is bad now cuz I had to drive it while misfiring for oh about 300 miles. As long as it runs ok now i really don't care about the vehicle now. It has a little over 90k. What bad luck.

I have worked at saturn for almost 5 years, never heard of an ECM taking out a ign module, i have seen ecms just up and die in the 2.2. Most of the time its just the module... in fact there was a recall on some.

Yeah I work at a Pontiac dealership and I had all the mechanics stumped. None of them have ever heard of something like this before. We even called the Saturn dealership down the road and they were stumped as well. It was the problem though, I had the ECM replaced and its been running fine now, unless I came across 4 bad modules, but what are the odds of that.
