04 Vue Humming From the rear wheels

Hi
Lately I have notices some noise coming from the rear two wheels. Its not a squeak or squeal but its more like rubber and road contact noise that goes higher at higher speed
I have a 04 vue 2.2l and standard transmission
Am I in for those expensive Hub replacements
Please advise

Probably one of the wheel bearings if it's not a bad tire.

HOw can we distinguish between the two??

Temporarily, and for test purposes only, inflate one tire at a time to 50 psi and drive the car to determine if the noise changes. Don't forget to reduce the tire pressure immediately after each test. Most likely you have a bad hub bearing. I thought mine was tire noise at first, then it started to sound like the rear end (RDM). It was a hub bearing. What a relief it was after it was replaced! It must have been making noise for two years.
