It's a really really old concept. Like the Tyrrell P34, a six-wheeled formula one car back in the 70s. But that was the 70's, everyone was a stoner.

According to wikipedia, the driver actually won a race in it. But then quit the team because he didn't like the car. Hard to imagine 10-inch wheels going 180mph, that's for sure!

Someone has already made a six wheeled SW2. It had four rear wheels and the back was made into a truck bed.

It was one word. awesome. The smaller wheels were more aerodynamic, had less angular intertia and could produce a larger contact patch without being wider (all sort od cool things came along with this). The car a a hack on the rules and was also banned as far as I remember.
I don't see any reason to do it on a road car where you are trying to loophole rules.

Is that to help with our traction issues with pushing huge bhp?

Actually the one I saw was a different color, had four rear wheels and was parked on the grass near some water in the pictures.

I don't know, I sort of dig that custom Saturn truck. I've seen worse. Then again I liked the Subaru Baja, the Ranchero, El Camino and the Rampage.

I've got some on board of that car or a variant on a F1 DVD. It's even sweeter on a big flat screen pumping realistic F1 volume levels through the surround system! The one I have doesn't have a front cowl on the car, and you can see the driver working the pedals... which are probably all of 4 inches off the road surface.
Leave it to the F1 guys to find rules loopholes. That car was legal enough to cause rule changes.
I've also got some vid of the F1 V8 Cosworth turning 20,000+ revs on the dyno. Sweet!

That 6 wheeler SW is so random. Someone should make an 8 wheeler like the Strykers they use in the military.
